To Live only for the Divine
(Spiritual Name)

Common Name: Myrtle (Myrtus Communis)

"To Live only for the Divine"

This is the spiritual message of the little white flower that this plant gives. The Mother adds this to her meaning: "This means to have overcome all the difficulties of the individual life".

The Mother also says, "Some give their soul to the Divine, some their life, some offer their work, some their money. A few consecrate all of themselves and all they have – soul, life, work, wealth; these are the true children of God. Others give nothing. These whatever their position, power and riches are for the Divine purpose valueless Cyphers."

This evergreen shrub is very handsome, with its small dark green glossy leaves, white mildly fragrant flowers with innumerable stamens and small oval blue-black fruits. There are about a hundred different varieties.

All parts of the plant are edible and medicinal.

The leaves are astringent and are effective in cerebral, stomach and liver disorders. Applied locally they are used to treat rheumatism.

A decoction of the leaves may also be used as a mouth-wash. For the leaves when bruised give a very special fragrance.
