General Information
A fairly large deciduous
tree which looks very beautiful and striking when it is full of
flowers in the Summer. The flowers are large striking orange to
deep red, with four widely separated clammed petals and one larger
petal that is white, cream or yellow, splashed and edged with red
or orange red. The fruit is a pod, a dark-brown bean. The trees
are sometimes planted on the roadsides.
The tree may be propagated
by seeds or cuttings. It thrives well in good soil specially under
fairly dry conditions, near the sea. The root system is frequently
very shallow, therefore the trees are easily uprooted in storms
or cyclones. The flowers and buds are sour and can be eaten. The
tree is a native of Madagascar.
The Meaning of Realisation

Here are some beautiful
quotes from Sri Aurobindo and the Mother on the true meaning of
Realisation.
"Realisation is
when something for which you are aspiring becomes real
to you; e.g. you have the idea of the Divine in all, but it is
only an idea, a belief; when you feel or see the Divine in all,
it becomes a realisation."
- Sri Aurobindo
"And if you are
called upon to define realisation, you may declare that, individually
speaking, it means the transformation of your ordinary human consciousness
into the divine and supramental.
*
Realisation - that
is what we aspire for and for which we shall strive unceasingly
however long it may take.
*
To go up and down and
join the top to the bottom is the whole secret of Realisation,
and that is the work of the Avatar."
- The Mother
