General Information

Dianthus Chinensis is an annual or short-lived perennial garden plant blooming in several colours. The small single flowers have four to six slightly overlapping petals that have smooth or often cut and fringed edges. The pretty petals in the shades of pink and red and white are gathered at the base into a strong green tubular calyx. The plant grows in well drained soil, in beds, pots, borders in sunny areas and can easily be multiplied by seeds.

There are several varieties of 'Obedience' and the Mother has given spiritual significances to two of them.

Detailed Obedience

Common Name : Sweet William

Spiritual Name : Detailed Obedience
                                  The obedience to the Divine Will
                                  must be total.
 

These flowers are a popular garden plant (annual, biannual or short-lived perennial).

The small single slightly fragrant flowers with fringed petals, often variegated, are borne in dense corymbs.

Perfect Obedience

Botanical Name :Dianthus Chinensis double

Spiritual Name : Perfect Obedience
                                   Without reserve or hesitation,
                                    joyous obedience in every sphere
                                   to the command of   the Divine.    

There are also several colours of scented double flowers. They flower well for several months in not too wet conditions.
