General Information
Carnations are popular
flowers used on all occasions. The plant has medium-sized fully
double flowers with a sweet, clove-like fragrance. They are grown
garden annuals and also loved as cut flowers. The soft fringed petals
in white, yellow, pink, purple, red and apricot orange are long
lasting on their long stamens where there are clusters of two to
five flowers. Carnations may be grown in pots, but flower rather
poorly.
