AUROSERVICE
- NEED AND PURPOSE
This
project, is based on the acceptance of work and the proper use of money as a means
to realise the Divine in material life. The Auroservice Trust aims to create a
new economic order based on truth and spiritual values and to generate funds for
the work of social transformation. The
guiding principles to be followed are truth, perfection, harmony, service and
the Mother's directions regarding money : "Money
is not meant to make money, money is meant to make the earth ready for the advent
of the new creation." top
ACTIVITIES
The
Business Section will undertake all types of business activities to create living
models and fields for practice for those who seek to base economic activities
on a spiritual basis. Such activities include : - the
production and sale of high quality, environmental friendly consumer goods (including
handicrafts and health products), and tourism and travel services. This section
will also generate funds for projects meant to transform attitudes and values
in the business sector.
- the
Auroservice - show and sales rooms called 'Splendour'
- Auroservice
in Pondicherry and some other parts of India. These will focus on products from
the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, centres and branches of the Sri Aurobindo Society, and
other Auroservice units, along with locally produced quality items. Gradually
they will also display and sell educational games and toys, health products, and
quality handicrafts from all parts of India.
- The
Self-employment and Training Section will help young people to become self-reliant
through vocational training and to enable them to establish their own business
based in Auroservice values. The Section will maintain a database of these young
people for matching against demand for their skills.
- The
Consultancy Section will establish a database of individuals in various fields
who offer their services on a voluntary basis to the purposes of Auroservice.
These people can help Auroservice projects or projects identified by Auroservice
as of special value.
- The
Research Section will seek to discover the true role and way of functioning of
such activities as manufacturing, wholesale and retail distribution, marketing,
advertising, export/import, transportation, tourism, communications, banking,
labour welfare, management and planning by bringing together people from various
fields, including private and public sectors, and by disseminating the conclusions.
 Some
Splendour showrooms have opened at Pondicherry and in some parts of India.
The project is very mush in it's initial stages and very little concrete work
has been done. It will grow as more persons get interested in this field and join.
